Dak vs Goff. To me it's a bit too easy to simply say 'more prepared for the NFL game OR more talent'.
Put simply - I believe Dak was cut loose and Goff was far more restricted. NOT in the type of plays, necessarily, but in the demand to 'stick to the plan'. Said coarsely, "don't care if it works do it the right way"... and I do NOT mean that's a 'bad' strategy. Dak could play football... instincts in play... Goff was trying to adhere to the script no matter what.
And by the way, because I know some of you are thinking this... forget the 'names'... Dak and Goff.. just think rookie QB's and the way they are brought into the NFL.
Seems to me Dak was not required to 'unlearn' his game but rather 'add to it'. Goff, seems to me, was required to forget everything and start from scratch.
Anyway... I'm not married to that theory, but I do think it's a factor. - JamesJM
