IRVINE – On Wednesday, the Rams rookies reported to training camp.
The same day UCLA participated in Pac-12 media day.
One day before USC appears at Pac-12 media day.
Two days before the Rams veterans report.
Three days before the Los Angeles Chargers, rookies and veterans, report.
Now would be a good time to remember that the John Johnson who plays defensive back for the Rams is not the same John Johnson who plays defensive back for the Bruins.
But the Max Tuerk who plays center for the Chargers is the same Max Tuerk who played center for the Trojans.
And, to officially acknowledge this before it happens, I keep mixing up Sam Darnold and Aaron Donald enough that I’m sure one day soon I’ll write a column in which USC’s quarterback is playing defensive tackle for the Rams.
For that, I’m sorry.
Folks, now that the NFL is back and times two, no less, football resumes in the Southland with the subtlety of a blitzing buffalo herd.
