14 of the list 34 prospects noted for having met with the Rams on Walter Football are offensive linemen.
Somewhere a poster noted that even Forrest Lamp may even be worked in at center based on some teams estimations.
As the Rams met with him twice, he wouldn't be the sexy pick, but as we saw with Martin of the Cowboys: True talent at guard is a big, big deal. To me I could cut our guards and bring hero talent to the LG and RG spot and never look back. And add that after reading the process by which Lamp prepares for a game, I duly impressed......but I digress........
Is selecting a center to back up or even take over for ailing John Sullivan tougher than it ought to be?
BTW, I remain a fan of Jon Toth. Toth has a mind, mech engineering degree and more. But he had a admittedly rough week at the senior bowl, and those are the sort of moments that scouts look to add to a resume or take away.
I am interested in Magnuson. Overlooked for the combine, and visited the Rams. Might just be a kid who can unseat any one of the Donnal, Brown, Wichmann trifecta. Better yet. Maybe he's a terrific prospect at center.
