Jeff Fisher....Stuck in Time

There was a time that Jeff Fisher was the hottest commodity on the market in coaching circles around the NFL. He's still stuck in that time. Reality has moved forward five years. A lot of money has been deposited into his account. He's been given Lamborghini money. He's delivered a Ford Focus. Now, mind you, a Ford Focus is a decent car. It'll get you from point A to point B. It'll dependably transport you to wherever you want to go, but people aren't going to line up to watch it happen. There are a lot of Ford Focus's on the road. They're a dime a dozen, so to speak. There's no Wow factor. No excitement. Nothing that inspires awe and excites the imagination. No, when you shell out Lamborghini money, a Ford Focus is going to leave you very disappointed. Jeff Fisher took that Lamborghini money and he parked a Ford Focus in the Coliseum. But, apparently, he believes that he has done Stan Kroenke and the city of Los Angeles a service. He apparently is mystified that Kroenke could possibly be dissatisfied with his efforts. I mean, seriously, that's one fine Ford Focus. After all, he was the one the whole league wished it could have. The golden boy. How dare the Rams kick him loose five years into his epic eight-year building process? Thems fightin' words. Now he wants revenge. And, just as an aside, does this seem like the attitude of a man who has a personal relationship with every player on that roster? Such a close personal relationship that he now wants to kick all of their butts on the field. He wants to make them look just as bad as he has made them look over the last five years. And he'll get his chance because he's Jeff freakin' Fisher. Football prodigy. Golden boy. Who wouldn't want a little bit of that glory? You know, besides Stan Kroenke. Apparently, when Stan pays for a Lamborghini, he's pretty insistent that a Lamborghini is eventually parked in his garage. As for Fisher, good luck finding that owner who is willing to settle for the Focus. Because that's probably all he's going to get.
