It is significant because Shaw has shied away from connecting himself to any pro teams in the past. And this is not necessarily connecting himself to the Rams either.
It could be a ploy for a bigger contract from Stanford but, just by showing up at Rams camp he has symbolically thrown his hat in the ring whether he intended to or not.
BTW Shaw I am quite sure knows what is going on.
One question for Rams fans is who arranged the visit by Shaw and how interesting it happens at this time on the heals of the ED vs Fisher controversy

The Rams front office, despite their statements otherwise are sensitive to the opinion of fans who will either renew or not renew season seats.
2016 was a bad way to start their new relationship with the City of LA. They know that. How can they not know it.
If they can get Shaw it would be a major move.
