LOS ANGELES -- Jeff Fisher has yet to push the Los Angeles Rams beyond mediocrity, but one thing he has done in his four prior years as head coach was keep seasons from spiraling out of control.

This year, the first one back in Los Angeles, might be different.

The Rams' 49-21 embarrassment against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday gave them six losses in their last seven games, the first time they have had a stretch that bad since Fisher took over in 2012. They're 4-7 despite starting the season off 3-1. And now the schedule becomes scary difficult, with road games against the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks sandwiched between a home game against the Atlanta Falcons.

The combined record for those three teams, all at the top of their respective divisions: 23-9-1.

"It's bounce-back time," was the first sentence uttered by Fisher when he approached the podium at the Rams' facility late Monday afternoon, barely 24 hours removed from suffering his 163rd career loss, moving past Tom Landry for second on the all-time list.
