Getting Joe Thomas would be the boldest move that Fisher and Snead could do.
Running game sucks, you go get Thomas and plug him right to LT spot. Drafting GRob and finally putting him at Guard would be a huge pill to swallow, but it would be the smartest move for him and the Rams. He will become an All-Pro Guard IMHO.
Thomas, GRob, Barnes, Whichman/Brown, Havenstein..........Well, that OL looks really good to me.
Thomas gives us "Hope" for improving the passing game as well. Any QB we trot out there will benefit from him being on the blind side AND since Goff is the "franchise QB", he will have a LT that is as good as it gets for protecting him.
This move will demonstrate that Fisher is beginning to sweat. He makes this move to.....
1. save his job.
2. get running game going. Gurley will be happy.
3. protect the #1 pick Goff when he finally, if ever, gets in. Investment is happy.
4. move a #1 pick from LT to Guard. GRob is happy.
5. we start winning football games.....Everyone is happy.
