the QB and Greg Robinson Safety Bubble can Burst

the QB and Greg Robinson Safety Bubble can Burst

Lots of discussion in the large number of assets the Rams have had. All those Washington picks. All of those high 1st round picks. 1st pick in draft on a QB so slow developing, he can't get on field. 2nd pick in the draft LT that is rated consistently in the bottom 10 percent of tackles in the NFL, 1st round RB once in a decade talent that is getting less than 3.0 yards per carry, (some think if not for an injury another top 3 pick), 8th pick Tavon Austin traded up for 3+ picks, Britt another 1st round pick, Quick early second round pick, and various other 2nd round picks,

But the real problem is the safety bubble these guys are put in and when there is adversity in the game and they have to come out of the bubble, the penalties, the breakdowns on offensive line, and the interceptions come in volume.

This offense has problems with fundamentals, quick decision making on the field, scheme, game day preparation, and always appear unprepared. Hence, you see 3 penalties on a drive, qbs being unprotected, interceptions, and with the game on the line, a disconnect on the biggest play of the game.

The safety bubble bursts with the game on the line. The small volume of plays and formations for 4+ years has limited the offense. Made it predictable and when the defense and special teams cannot dominate you get what happened in the 2nd half of last weeks game. It is all new to the players to have to come out of the safety bubble and it is very difficult when you are unprepared in those situations. You have to put the players in stressful situations in practice and force them to think on there feet, and even in the preseason games, or mix something in the game plan each week, something extra and new to challenge them to make them grow.

I will grant that that last few weeks has been an improvement on offense, but it is all so new because they have been coddled for so long on offense, specifically the QBs and the left tackle. (When they are put in these stressful situations, because scoring is needed, is when it all falls apart.)

The True test of progress is not who you are when you are safe and comfortable but who you are when you are not safe and comfortable. This is how you pick up new skills and abilities and grow to be a better person or in this case, better players and a better team.
