Monday Wrap-Up: Rest, Recovery, Reps in Order for Bye Week

The Rams arrived back in Los Angeles from London in the wee hours of Monday morning, having dropped both games of the long road trip. With a 3-4 record now heading into the bye week, head coach Jeff Fisher said it’s important for many players to rest, recharge, and recover this week. And for others, the focus will be reps on the practice field.

The latter will be the case for many of Los Angeles’ young players, including rookie quarterback Jared Goff. That, however, does not mean Goff will take over for Case Keenum as the starter just yet.

“I’ve not changed my mindset whatsoever with respect to Case and Jared,” Fisher said Monday.

Instead, the plan is to give the No. 1 overall pick opportunities he would not have during a normal practice week.

“Jared’s going to get some reps, which is a by product of the bye week,” Fisher said. “I don’t feel like Case needs the reps Wednesday and early next week, so Jared will get those reps, which is good.”
