Well people don't get gravity.
They can't explain it on the quantum level which is the same as saying they can't explain it. They can of course as we know measure it on the classic "world observable to humans" level, and have been able to do that since Newton (and if they couldn't do that then they couldn't make rockets work right).
But unless/until we can explain how it works at the quantum level, which no one can, then, they have to say they don't understand it.
I once explained to my daughter that gravity was weaker than electro-magnetic force. I took a magnet off the fridge and held up a screw driver with it, and said this tiny magnet is defeating the gravitational force of the entire planet earth.
