I have a cousin who did it....

He's now the founder and Dean of an engineering college. He was also my keyboard player in my first band.

He worked on 'folding things' - - designing various components used in space to be folded into the smallest, and lightest, possible configuration for storing and then deploying once in space.

I don't remember the specific projects, but he was part of a few of those JPL celebrations when his projects would come to fruition.
