My mom and I shared a fondeness for horse racing. One of the proudest moments of my life was being able to take her to the Kentucky Derby. A bucket list item for her. We always got together to watch it on TV. My mom was awesome.
I watched the Disney version of Secretariat the other day. The truth is too fantastic for even Hollywood. Where movies based on true stories are often embellished this one was almost downplayed. You don’t have the triple crown races that Secreariat did. they got the facts right but the missed the meaning and the inspiration of them.
