Covered MUCH more of his plight. Unseen in the movies is when a Jap Cruiser came close enough for some crew on deck to see Gay and point at him. LUCKILY, they were preoccupied. IMO...I put "Sole Survivor" right up there with "Unbroken". Ens. George Gay was a HELLUVA pilot and man! Also.....VERY cool to know those guys trained right here at NAS JAX.
