Me and your wife...

calm down Deadpool... I'm talking beer here. laughing smiley

I wanted to like IPA beers because so many were leading me to believe it was 'cool' to do so.... but I don't. Your wife is right... it's skunky horrible. I tasted many IPA's and finally pulled my head out of my posterior and stopped testing them and never will again... they are disgusting.

But each to their own... glad you like them.

Just back from England, Germany, France, and Belgium... and had some great beer, a few bad ones as well. Without question my favorite was:

St. Bernardus12 which I had in a restaurant/pub in Norwich, England. Perhaps... can't say for sure, the best beer I've ever tasted... including Guiness, which I love. It's robust, very flavorful, yet not at all heavy, like Guiness or many other Ales. Perfect simply alone, as a drink, or with a meal. - JamesJM

Where does that distinctive taste in IPA's come from? And Liqueurs...

Type of hops might be of some significance.......
