about the bat guano... I should have thought of that. I'll remove the tops and wash them after our next outing.
Being an 'outdoors' person I can attest to the fact that bats CAN hit you while flying. It's not common, but it isn't rare. Lot of people don't think it can happen. They rarely 'bite' just by flying into you, I've never heard of it happening and I've been witness too, and victim of, bat strikes many times... you basically have to handle them to get bitten.. or if they land on you while you're at rest then swatting at them to knock them away.
