I really don't think it's that. For me it's simply that based on where a lot of these guys were selected the value received (in year one) was good. Rapp was a top-40 prospects taken at 61 that started all year and overall played very well. Evans and Edwards, once they got on the field, held up pretty well for rookie 3rd and 5th round picks. Gaines gave you about what you think you'd get from a 4th round NT. All four of these guys need to elevate their games in years 2 and 3 but for rookies I thought they did pretty well.
