The Rams punted the entire second half trying to force the run against that 6-1 defense and commentators kept mentioned, you can't run against that.
Finally, Goff gets his chance with a broken down offensive line that most had less than a year of experience and 2 of his 3 WRs out of the game with injury and led the team in a game closing drive that was needed by throwing the ball.
It was simply put:
A well done job by Goff!
The commentators did not say you cannot run against that front in general. They said what the Rams were doing last night wasn't working so they needed to switch it up.
And McVay did.
But it was not a bad strategy to try running inside since the fact is, the Rams earlier this year did start having some success with inside runs against that front. That front eliminates outside runs but it's possible to have success when running between the tackles.
Saying it's wrong to try running at all against that front is wrong.
