as your go to examples
both those QBs are two of the best ever...Brady quick release and Rodgers can avoid sacks
we will see but they have struck out big time this year....will be major changes next season of another 8-8 year
Rodgers succumbs under the pressure of a damaged or struggling OL. That has been proven, going back years. Right now their OL is playing extremely well.
Brady is one of the rare qbs who can still play effectively when his OL crashes. That though rarely happens (last big time it happened was 2015.) BUT there were times when Brady was not the qb and their OL was healthy, and the substitute qbs played well too. It was never just Brady.
Other than Brady (and Wilson), when an OL struggles they drag the qb down with it.
And you are basically just running on this prejudice which says, unless an OL is a high pick he's not good.
That's nonsense. Rams history, let alone all of league history, is full of lower picked OL who thrived. Jackie Slater? Heck their last genuinely great center, Doug Smith, was a UDFA. Timmerman was originally a 7th round pick, and not only did he start as a 2nd year lineman with no experience, he played DL in college and was converted in the pros.
Those are just SOME examples.
And there will be no major changes next year. They will stick with their plan and just add pieces to it. They won't go 8-8 either. (Though if Whitworth retires they might find another vet to replace HIM.)
See, you're mistaking what has been going on with this OL for a talent issue. But that's not what's happening. It's lack of continuity combined with injuries.
