To me it's at least regular season games played. In his case, still one. When the Rams went after Ryan Groy from the Bills in 2017 he had played 25 games with 10 starts over 3 years. That to me is a veteran backup.
I think they'll be fine with Demby for a game or two at RG. But I do wish that Garrett Reynolds-type was here.
Speaking of Groy, notice what happened with him? He was available, the Saints cut him. He's still out there. Rams weren't interested.
I wonder if the era of veteran back-ups is over. OL is getting to be hard to stock since it's hard to judge candidates in the era of the college spread. That could mean those guys don't drift around like they used to.
Kromer is not as worried as we are about having young depth. He's also not as worried as we are when it comes to the OL starting rough early in the season. He could be right or wrong but my feeling is, he ain't playing by our rules.
