I am pretty hard on Demby.
Part of it is annoyance with this infernal narrative, apparently shared by the coaches, that he is a legitimate choice. And the "trust the coaches" narrative that crops up in a situation like this, as you acknowledge.
But most of it is the man's performance. I have spent several hours studying the guy. And he was really poor, again and again. I've acknowledged what he can do, moving laterally, which is how they hide him. But I saw him get physically whipped over and over. And BTW I saw that in the PrS too.
And then there are the decisions made by the team. I cannot see anything about this guy that warrants the staff giving him this role. I … do … not … get … it. Alternative universe.
But hey … watch the film. I don't think you'll see much there.
