Well, it is pretty hard to improve from 2018. So in that regard try not to let yourself down or have unrealistic expectations.
In my opinion they're in the mix as one of the top 5 teams in the league. And there's little to complain about there. The defense is better. The offense is, I think, feeling their way through- a new OL, figuring out the Gurley/Brown mix, trying new things to try and stay a step ahead of the league, etc. I wrote a week or two ago that I don't really care of the offense scores 50 points less this year as long as the defense gives up 50-60 fewer points as well.
The NFC West is better. Hard to tell yet exactly what they each are or are not but none of the three are doormats. Seattle and San Francisco will provide some challenges along the way. Week 5 at Seattle will be one of their hardest games of the season.
They're 7th in points differential so far (+21). We should be careful not to look for style points every week. Winning in the NFL is hard. Will they win 13 games again and have home field advantage? Possible. Could they end up 11-5 and the 3rd seed? Sure.
Also, don't crown New England yet. Their game vs Miami was 16-0 late in the 3rd quarter before the flood gates opened. I think they've played two pretty bad teams so far. They won't be challenged until November but we'll see.
