I like and believe in McVay's viewpoint that you do what you think is best to prepare your team for the regular season. But I am worried about his pulling all the starters for all the preseason games.

I can't argue with results. We did it last year, went 13-3, had good health and got to the SB.

But honestly, his policy is kind of a disaster for the NFL. Fans already hate preseason, and if a lot of other teams start imitating McVay, which I think is likely, the preseason is going to be even harder to justify. I am afraid that the NFL is going to start pressuring the Rams behind the scenes to toe the line and give the fans something worth watching.

On the other hand, maybe this is what it takes for me to get my preferred outcome in the next CBA. Drop two preseason games, add one regular season game and one bye week - a plan that I think is defensible to the players and workable for the league.
