I remember Doug Smith laughing about that bad snap and it really ticked me off. I called the Rams office, which was at the time on Pico Boulevard, the next morning and really let them have it.
I told them, among other things, that the players had missed several opportunities to win that game, and that the Rams had a bleep coaching staff.
The young woman who took the brunt of my wrath patiently listened, and then she explained that the players really did feel bad about letting the fans down. She also said that Doug Smith's laughing was out of exasperation and belied the guilt that he felt in singlehandedly causing the Rams to lose the game.
