Allen calls it a “redshirt year”, but contrary to what that moniker might suggest, the 23-year-old center couldn’t be happier about the way things worked out. As far as he’s concerned, not playing was the best thing that ever happened to his playing career.
“To be honest, whenever this thing is over, that will be what I’m most thankful for,” Allen said on Monday, as the Rams began organized team activities. “That first year has really put me on a track to be successful, I think.”
