False premise

The source in this case is reliable because the "story"(hard to really call it that) is how he gets along with certain people. If you can't accept someone's word about how they personally feel as a valid source then there's really no point in even asking.

Many seem all too willing to believe the gossip and far too reticent to consider the one's involved.
