We all get that the players have short careers and need to secure that financial security.
But when they’re already 30 and rich while seeking that 3rd and final contract?
I would think that other things would become increasingly important. Teammates, coaches, likelihood of SB, etc?
Saffold, to his credit, at least went to a team with a decent looking future. Had he gone to the Jets, Cards, or Raiders I would have still been scratching my head.
All this is assuming that the Rams would have made competitive offers, of course.
