There is being a good winner with class and then there is being an ugly winner. Ugly winners can't stand the fact that there may be an asterisk next to the win or it might be tainted in some fashion. Be honest-even the NFL head of officiating apologized to the Saints saying it not only was PI but helmet to helmet. Lets be classy and say it was indeed a bad call that could have easily changed the outcome-but its over and done and now we move on to the hated Patriots. Lets also take a lesson from Nickell Robey-Coleman himself who said Yeah it was probably PI but now we need to focus on the Patriots. Defending a non-call that anyone with knowledge of the game-including the NFL itself-knows should have been called is not the class that Coleman himself showed.
We're better than this.
Sure, the call against NRC could have been made. I think the refs swallowed their whistle there. Yes, that call would have changed the outcome of the game.
Do you want to know another call that would have changed the outcome of the game? A face mask that the Saints committed on the series before that would have put the Rams at the goal line. People seem to be forgetting that. So I don't care about a non call when the Saints were in the red zone and neither should you if you think about the principle of cause and effect.
