It was only 18 months ago, that Wentz was the belle of the ball, the MVP favorite, and Goff was just starting to overcome his bust label. Wentz was the future superstar QB of the NFL.
Heck, even Andrew Luck was considered washed up by many in the media. Prescott went from ROY and the best QB in the draft, to a bum his 2nd year, and now he's pretty good.
Things change quickly in the NFL, especially with young QBs. You just don't know. And early on you know less.
The idea that the Eagles would stick with Foles and trade Wentz would get you labeled insane last year. Now reasonably sane people are discussing it.
All things considered, we are fortunate to have Goff. He may not be the next Joe Montana, but he fits well with McVay, and he'll be a fine QB over the next 8 years at least.
