Yeah, I would stay WAY out of the top 30-40 free agents bidding. To me it's about adding some role players in various spots- backup QB, a veteran swing OL, an interior DL (that can give them more than Westbrooks has), a bigger, rotational ILB that plays good special teams, a 4th CB. Etc. Maybe they sign a starting safety.
Yes they have the space to add short-term guys and budget "finds" like Blythe and Robey-Coleman.
But if they make a big trade or sign a top FA, it's most likely to be a contract that cuts into 2021.
At that point (2021) they will need to be extra choosey. Honestly I doubt they could afford more than 8-9 big contracts in 2021.
Not that it can't be done. Far from it. Good managers can do that.
