I guess I need to take the glass 1/2 full approach.
I have been critical of the defense all season long but in the last 2 games they came to play. Still a little weaker against the run then I would like but overall they have done a good job. Maybe they will be ready to roll come playoffs. I hope the underperforming vets (Suh, Brockers, Barron, Joyner & Peters) start to play the way the have in the past.
The offense has laid an egg last 2 games and Goff has look like crap. The Offensive line has not performed well either. It seems as if McVay has failed to make adjustments. Those facts do not really worry me that much. A good dose of reality can sharpen things and give everyone so urgency to figure things out. We have too much talent and McVay is too good a coach not figure things out.
Don't like how we came off the bye week. In some ways I am happy that we came out and we were not sharp. We can learn from that and when we get a bye week we can make sure we are ready to play. If the coaches learned their lesson on how to handle an off week it will be well worth having lived through the lesson.
I trust in McVay and the talent we have. We are pretty healthy other than Kupp which is better than most teams. We are having a little adversity and it is coming at the right time where we can fix thing before the playoffs.
I also think that McVay doesn't want to open up his full bag of tricks and that he is saving something special for opponents come playoff time.
We may have to go through NO but will have a bye week and a home game before we have to worry about that.
