I just don't see it the same way.

We have played good D's and still manage to get off long passes and play the intermediate game.
The thing is, the Rams O is so hard to read that it regularly gives Goff an extra click on play action.

I don't think a short passing game is the answer. I think the Rams need to play their game, their way. And if the Bears can beat it, so be it. Only 1 team has beat it so far, the Saints, and the Rams STILL scored 35 in that one.

Sure adjustments are always needed according to how your opponents tend to play the game; but not major changes.
The Rams are healthy and the offense is not happy with their performance last week, even though they scored 30. Heck, if they play the same this week, that will probably be good enough to beat the Bears.

The Rams are NOT a dink and dunk team, Goff is not a dink and dunk QB, and I don't think they'll do well in a dink and dunk game. It takes the aggression away and it is simply not their mentality. This is a down the field, pedal to the metal O.

If the weather was going to be bad, I could see your game plan. It's not supposed to be. It won't be brutally cold, no snow or rain, and there is to be little to no wind. The field won't be frozen, so traction will probably be OK.

I believe the Bears are 1-1 against the only two teams over .500 that they've played. The Rams at 5-1 against the SIX over .500 teams they've played.
Frankly, I'm surprised that the Rams aren't at least 5 point favorites.
