Our O is way better than theirs and our D is good enough to keep Trubisky and Co. in check for the most part.
I don't necessarily disagree. But, that Bear offense is tricky.
The thing is, Nagy (Sp?) really schemes well. As does McV, he sets up the run for success through deft manipulation of the formations. And he also sets up receivers to be open. If Trubitsky were a good QB, it would be a really lethal attack. Fortunately, T is a very erratic passer, although he can run.
And of course our defense is … well, let's say it's vulnerable.
I don't think the Bears can put up more than about 17 unless we gift them scores with turnovers. But, with our defense, I wouldn't stake my car on it.
Anyway, I think that battle is more or less a known: they'll put up between 10 and 23 points.
The issue is our offense. I do not want to see a repeat of the DEN, SEA, and DET games in which our offense sputtered and stalled out. Even if we win the game. I want to see our offense thrive behind a smart game plan.
And I still say a lot of that is on McV. If our offense looks poor, I'll bet you it's because he tried to throw middle range passes all day off of deep drops.
Agree with all of that, including your original point about needing to utilize a quick, short passing game. We can't let Mack get a head of steam going. I want to see Goff finish the season upright.
