Taking stock of the season

We are 6 games in, and couldn’t have done better. 6-0

Now we start what I call the bowels of the season, weeks 7 to 12. Actually, for us weeks 7 to 11 since we have our BYE week 12.

This is when you push through your injuries and bring in reinforcements like we just did with Nick Williams. Not to replace guys like Reynolds or Hodge but to backfill their rolls.

There are quite a few exciting and challenging games in this stage, Packers, Saints, and Chiefs, especially.

There will probably be a loss or maybe 2 in this stage with the bumps and bruises we’ve sustained already.

Then we get our BYE to get refreshed befor we start the stretch run.

Really, it the first 3 games of the stretch run that are the big ones. @Detriot, @Chicago, Philadelphia at home. That’s where we need to build momentum for the playoffs.

The final 2 games against the Cards and Niners should be tune ups against teams playing out the year with nothing but evaluations going on.

When I break things down this way, it is easier for me to see 13 wins as an expected result. That historically gets the #1 seed.
