Goff held it far too long and was a victim of how good the offense has been. Instead of getting rid of the ball, he likely anticipated having more time or a wide open receiver break free. That's fine, that's what he's used to and it's usually been the case. But, he's going to have to acclimate and reach a balance between staying aggressive but being smart.
The sack he took to push the FG attempt to 47 yards cost the team points. The sack he took where the play was a rollout and quick hitter in the flat should have been thrown right away and a short gain instead of sack. Costing the team field position and points is not what an elite QB can afford to do. Not to mention taking unnecessary hits.
Goff will learn from it and hopefully just get better rather than less aggressive but he'll have to make some adjustments. McVay took the ball out of his hands yesterday and it was for good reason. Goff has to grow past that.
