It's only two games in. Since Goff didn't get much (or any) work in the preseason games.....maybe McVay just figured to continue let him get some rhythm. However, the concern of getting injured during meaningless minutes should still be there. McVay gave Gurley some rest, when Gurley was performing like he was in mid-season form. Hopefully, he will give Goff the same in the upcoming games.
I would like to see Mannion get work with the 1's. It would be great to get that excuse out of the way when doing the final evaluation on Mannion. In the unlikely event that Goff gets injured in the future.....you don't want to have to go through two games before Mannion can start clicking with the 1's.
