Disagree about schedule being brutal

April 20, 2018 04:18AM
Last year is last year. Team records last year mean little for what will happen this coming year.

Practically everyone on this board has taken an opportunity to agree with McVay and Snead that last year's record buys you nothing this year.

So I just don't buy the Strength of Schedule thing. It is history; but it is being used as a forecast. And if any football fan ought to know by now, forecasts of team success is pretty hit and miss.

I of course understand that the NFL has to use last year's records as the only objective way to prioritize such things as the draft.
But to speak of tough schedule versus easy schedule based on last year as a means to try to determine our own wins and losses this coming year to me is close to useless.

Most important issue of number of "wins" is to get a playoff bye
