that posters would not be in such a hurry to put ceilings on some of our young players and say what they are or aren't or what they can't do.
There were people that thought Gurley was Trent Richardson.
There were people that thought Goff was a lost little lamb and an incipient bust.
There were a lot of posters that doubted that Hav and Brown could be a viable right side to the OL.
And they didn't look good at all in some of the preseason, but they got it figured out.
Littleton looked decent when he got to play a full game against the 49ers. He's shown some definite fire and ability on special teams.
Ebukam had some impressive moments.
Longacre has already been a productive part of the rotation.
These are all young players.
It's possible that these guys just need this additional year of maturation and coaching, and being put in the starter's role, to surprise a lot of people.
Or not. Maybe they are ordinary and maybe we need help.
But since we didn't see a lot of the good that was coming from some of our players in 2017, I think it's reasonable to believe that there might be some more pleasant "step-up" surprises in 2018.
