Think about it - just 2 guys getting to hang out with / work with all those cheerleaders. Sounds like the plot of a sitcom.
College programs have male cheerleaders and they're pretty athletic and nobody says much about it. Or questions if they're transgender (wth? Seriously, what does that have to do with anything?)
As far as cheerleading in pro sports it seems a bit dated - especially now when most people spend timeouts and quarter and half breaks staring at their phones., but I think it helps that they do PR events and charity events and representing the team to the community.
I do like the Kings Ice cheerleaders or whatever they're called. They're decent skaters and actually do something (clearing the ice) during play stoppages
