I think "your opinion is BS and mine is all fact-based" is a lot more offensive then "let's agree to disagree".
it's an issue of people being able to posit a theory (maybe a medical diagnosis) and then not really being able to blow it out of the water properly because the one who posits the stupid theory wants to save face so they call "let's agree to disagree".
