Should Hecker make QB money, or TA money?
Productivity alone at a single position should not be the criterion for other worldly pay.
I read he makes everyone better then how aweful would our D be without him or must it be?
Quin is gone. True is gone, Ogletree is gone. we have lost Jenkins and others yet even with them we have yet to crack top 10 with Aaron Donald.
Minessota and Philadephia managed without AD on their squads. 9 others also ranked ahead of us.
I am betting they are not doing on the strength of DT position alone. I am betting they are not paying thier DT QB money and if they were like Miami will can the experiment.
I love boasting the stuff put out by media. I love the hype but my practical mind tells me he ain't worth it no matter how great the brag is. 18 million Max and that would be my mindset until there is a better sense of the value of his position. I fell like I am giving in too much as it is but 18 is better than 20 - 25.

I realize AD is on another level, but Is AD worth $20-25 million per year???
First off, I hope we keep AD, however I think that is a legit question. AD is on track to not only be in the HOF, but after only 3 years in the league is even in the discussion of being one of the top interior linemen when compared with other HOFers.
At the same time, IMHO, I tend to think you only overpay for a QB. I mean, will AD get us to the SB? Or will having $20 mil to spend (2/3 players) compensate for losing AD? I honestly don’t know the answer. He is SO good as an interior force, he makes the entire D better.
I don’t think the answer is as obvious as most people realise. Having said this, I would bet on him signing his next contract in L.A.
