Under the current rules the 1999-2001 GSOT would be even better. What the GSOT did in 1999 through the 2001 season wasn't just prolific, it was revolutionary. Warner and company were often replaced early in the 4th quarter. Under the current rules scoring in general is up, unless you're Jeff Fisher. I can only imagine what they would do now. Needless to say I love what the Rams are doing. It's always great to see them turn the corner after 10 or 15 years of futility. These Rams are great, but not the GSOT (at least not yet).
Remember too, the GSOT put up those numbers before they made the changes to benefit the offense(Manning rule?) in 2007. Manning and the Colts couldn't beat tough defenses(Patriots) so they changed the rules to let the small, fast Colts receivers be able to run free against the defense.
Had Bruce, Holt, et al had that same advantage, they probably would have been scoring 600 points/season.
