ALLEN PARK -- Few players have struggled more this season than Greg Robinson. Now he's getting a day off.
Robinson was listed by the Detroit Lions as a nonparticipant at Thursday's practice, even though he's healthy. It's the first time he's missed a practice since the start of the season.
Acquired in an offseason trade to replace the injured Taylor Decker, Robinson has struggled with the role. He's already allowed three sacks and 21 hurries in five games.
That's already halfway to the 42 pressures Decker allowed all last season.
"Good plays and bad plays, like a lot of people in this league," offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter recently said. "He's had some really nice plays, plays that have really helped us, run game and pass game. And he's had some plays he would like back, some plays where you could do things better.
"He's playing a high-leverage, high-difficulty position, left tackle in the NFL, and he's doing a lot of really good things out there. I'd like for him to sort of try to clean up those mistakes, like we're all going to do and play better. That's what we're all trying to do."
