In fact the boldest generals in history often did lose in the end. Hannibal, Napoleon (who was beaten by the Marty Schottenheimer of generals, Wellington), Rommel. Julius Caeser btw was methodical not bold. The winner among the bold ones was Alexander of Macedonia.
