I agree with you too to a degree. BUT I don't think SonOfBum, as he demonstrates in that quote, is a strict doctrinaire . Coaches that have had the long-term success that he has can't be that rigid.
He WILL find a way to adapt his system to the players' strengths. When you have a player with AD's unique skill set, you find a way to maximize his impact. The 3-4 will be played in a way that uses AD to attack and penetrate and he will be successful.
