I wish I could just jump on the bandwagon and go all in on the Rams new players or the Rams in general. But I can't.
Preseason wins just don't translate to season won-lost records.
That said, results of first halves in Preseason probably correlate a little better.
The game speeds up and gets more intense in the regular season. Teams only show some of what they have.
There is a game plan for regular season games.
So rookies that look OK suddenly find themselves playing with guys who have upped it a notch.
All that said, the Rams playmakers that likely to do well out of the box include a rookie in Kupp. I expect Woods, Watkins and Kupp to be pretty effective from day 1. Depending on when Austin joins the team, if he can have at least 1 preseason game, he's going to help as well. If the Rams can have 4 effective WRs, that is going to be signficant.
I expect to see Higbee do more damage than Everett because he's going to get way more playing time. I suspect Everett will be used in spot situations.
I don't think McVay is going to use very many rookies at the same time. In fact, let's remember that while some rookies will make the 53, most probably won't make the 46.
So I expect, for example, that Reynolds won't get much playing time at first. I'd expect to see Austin, Woods, Watkins, Kupp and Cooper as the game day WRs.
