I understand the skepticism. I'm in no way ready to pronounce Goff as a success.
Then again, as been proved so many times in the NFL, neither does one or even two good seasons signal a QB has the ability to take a team all the way.
Look at Andrew Luck. He seems to have everything but things have been so so with him. Where's development from his rookie year?
Tannehill for the Dolphins.
Mike Vick looked like the next big thing.....but alas, it was all about his legs.
McNabb.
Could even look at Nick Foles one big year.
Kap.
This list goes on.
All I'm saying is that if Goff's needle is up, I simply don't see the Rams pursuing Cousins.
Certainly, if after the reworking of the offense, and excellent offensive coaching, Goff has a pretty poor year, then all bets are off.
Then again, who knows what Cousins is going to look like in 2017. I don't see him as a playoff QB; more like a McNown to me.
But if Cousins has a great year and leads the Redskins deep into the playoffs, he's not getting out of DC no matter what he costs.
