Coaching matters. The Eagles were infinitely more prepared to coach Wentz than the Rams were for Goff
Now Goff might turnout to be a bust but it's too early to say that right now
Goff was far, far greener than Wentz and went to a worse situation (and worse in a lot of ways, it is not just the standard issue posting list of bad things).
In fact I think it's actually impossible for anyone to say a single thing about the qb coaching that holds up. There was too much static, flak, fog, and disruption in too many ways for anyone to assess any of this accurately.
The one solid thing I can see is that Goff came greener than grass from an Air Raid offense, and so far the 2 NFL qbs who have come from that and done ANYTHING have been Foles and Keenum.
And with Foles it was when he was in a pro spread offense that revolved around the kinds of things he knew from college.
Brandt was right IMO when he said before the 2016 season that Goff was way behind.
Having said all that (so far anyway) I think the situation is far more stable this year all the way around, again for a lot of reasons, and that the offensive staff this year is a good one, down to the qb coach, who is an ex coordinator.
