I've asked this before and don't think I got an answer, so I'll ask again:
Who on O did the Rams under Fisher take from a rookie and develop into a solid to good starting player? Anybody? In 5 years?
Who on the Oline did the Rams develop under Fisher......in 5 drafts......who became a solid to good Oline player?
No doubt Boudreau attempted to teach technique somewhere in there, but he failed miserably at it. And in fact all across the board on the O, whatever attempt there was to "teach" didn't work.
A teacher who can't teach might be hired to be a teacher, and they can be called a teacher....but they're not.
McVay and staff were hired as "teachers"; and the players and local sports reporters and former players under McVay have talked about it.
You really think that Tom Mack can't look at a young Oline on TV over these past seasons and understand what the heck is wrong?
And clearly, saying it about as nicely as he can say it, he said these guys were taught what they were to do on any given play; they just weren't taught how to do it.
They weren't developed. That is self-evident.
Just saying that's not true doesn't cut it.
At least on the O side, as Vinny B and other pretty good sports reporters have pointed out, under Fisher development was an afterthought and it showed. Under McVay, that is the primary focus.
