Had Vermeil stayed Martz would have been hired as a HC somewhere immediately. The "hot" OC or DC always is. Now I think it might still have been better for the Rams had that happened, but to be fair we did go to another Super Bowl and had a dominant team in 2001. Other than getting outcoached by the AntiChrist in SB36, something that has happened to a lot of other coaches as well, I don't have a lot of complaints about 2000-2001, and really we were a SB quality team again in 2003. Would all that have happened, or better, with Vermeil and a different OC? Who can really tell?
