Same with the routes. If they work with him on both, endlessly, repetitively, he could overcome the problem.
One thing, to me, has never been in question, and it's really important: He's very tough and very willing to take a hit. For such a relatively small player, he has serious guts. It's just that he can't be relied upon to catch the ball, and without that, all of his waterbug quickness is moot.
I'm hopeful. That said, as I mentioned the other day, if they do have someone on the roster they think can do what he does, now is the time to think trade. Get out from under his cap hit, and perhaps bring in a solid, young O-lineman, DE or safety.
Overall, and mostly because of the new coach, I'm really looking forward to this season.
